Description

Mixologist Duggan McDonnell created the Beatnik cocktail for Averna with just three ingredients, but they each contribute to an array of fascinating flavors. This drink offers a hint of sweetness from the tawny port wine, a warm oak from the bourbon, and an herbal and bittersweet undertone from the Averna. The beatnik is an excellent after-dinner drink.

Directions

  1. Rinse a cocktail glass with the port by pouring it into the glass and swirling it around to coat the inside.
  2. Pour the remaining port into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and add the bourbon and Averna.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a flamed orange peel(optional).
